Hobsons' Summer Internship Program

Overview 

​

With a start date of May 31, this hands-on learning program promises 10 weeks of real-world experience.

 

According to the brainchild of CEO Craig Heldman, the Internship Program's mission is to offer an interactive learning environment for students to develop their talent in a professional setting.This summer Hobsons has offered that through one-on-one management and in partnership with a personal advisor assigned to each intern.

Essential Functions and Responsibility-- Instrutional Designer 

​

  • Created and updated instructor-led courseware and self-paced content such as learning management system (LMS)

  • Edited instructor-led video tutorials for self-paced training

  • Created and maintained online help content for assigned suite of products

  • Conducted academic research on instructional design theories and propose a syllabus for instructional designer training

  • Researched on and implemented technologies such as Google Analytics and Vimeo Stats for learner analytic research and help-content evaluation

  • Conducted learner experience research and created learner personas

  • Created index for documentation database to ensure timely updating and more efficient content management

  • Ensured that all help content and learning materials adhere to corporate styles and standard

  • Reviewed and provide feedback on material developed by other team members to ensure publication quality

Minimum Qualifications
  • Passion in instructional technology/instructional design/curriculum design

  • Strong writing skills- technical writing skills a plus

  • Strong publication design and layout abilities

  • Proficient in at least one of the following (or similar) tools: Captivate, Camtasia, Screenflow, HTML5, CSS, MadCap, RoboHelp, SnagIt

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint

  • Sophisticated communication skills including the ability to interact, communicate, and influence within cross-functional teams

  • Ability to work within a team and independently, with little supervision at times

  • Multitasking, project management, and organizational skills

  • Global thinker who performs well in high-pressure situations in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment
